Mill lodge is a new 27 bedded hospital for adults of 18 and above who are experiencing acute mental health issues.

Situated in the middle of Kegworth, close to Nottingham, Derby and Leicester it has good and easy access to the M1, M42 and A50. Therefore this makes it a great destination for both working at and also for referrers looking for a new acute bed close to several centres of high population.

The hospital has 4 wards and caters for both male and female in single sex accommodation. Each ward has 7 or 6 beds. All bedrooms are en suite with modern furnishings. Each ward has its own kitchen, lounge and quiet areas.

Staffing at Mill lodge comprises of Nursing, Doctors, Pychology, Occupational Therapy, Social Worker and support and administrative staff. The aim is to work as a close team providing a holistic range of assessments and treatments.

Mill lodge Hospital provides a comprehensive pathway of acute admissions services for men and women. Our team works closely and collaboratively with service users, their families and the referrer to provide a seamless pathway from referral to discharge

Our team works closely and collaboratively with service users, their families and the referrer to provide a seamless pathway from referral to discharge. Our approach is recovery focused and supported by comprehensive multi-disciplinary teams, contributing to shorter lengths of stay.

Our Acute services can support both informal and detained individuals either as direct admissions or stepping down from PICU services. We can support individuals experiencing difficulties due to a range of conditions including bipolar disorder, psychosis, depression, personality disorder, self-harm and others.

We aim to prepare all service users for discharge straight back to their local community under the care of the community mental health team, or to the least restrictive environment appropriate to meet their own individual needs.

All of our wards provide a safe and stabilising environment for men and women who are experiencing an acute episode of mental illness and require an emergency admission.

The ethos of our service is about assessing and treating service users in the least restrictive environment and planning for discharge in a robust and timely fashion. With a focus on stabilisation, we will support service users to manage their mental health, reinforce daily living skills and prepare for independent life back in the community.
